The colloquium is dedicated to Doctoral students, Postdoctoral fellows, and Master’s students enrolled in a research programme, seeking careers as researchers in public, private and academic organizations with research interests in emergency and crisis management.

The colloquium will be chaired by Dr. Madhulika Bhati and Dr. Floris Goerlandt. In addition, other experienced professors, experts, and researchers will join the colloquium as mentors. Mentors’ names and a detailed program will be published closer to the time of the colloquium.

The goals of the 2025 ISCRAM Doctoral Colloquium are threefold:

  • To develop and sustain a network of young scholars conducting high quality research in the area of Information Systems for Crisis Response and Management.

  • To support the next generation of emergency and crisis management researchers by addressing issues relevant to the progression of a research career, such as communication skills, leadership, and project management.

  • To allow participants to discuss their research with leading specialists, scholars, and peers in an international setting.

Students will present their work to the group with substantial time allowed for discussion and questions by the colloquium chairs, mentors, and other students. This may help students further develop their research designs, results, and analyses such that they can produce high-quality research, theses, and publications. The colloquium will also address several other professional development topics through talks and discussions.
